Nano-Sensors that can detect heart attacks?

A team of engineers and scientists in India have developed a technology capable of detecting heart-attacks before they happen. Using three-dimensional sensors and the nano electrical mechanical system (NEMS) of its polymer material, the scientists can detect any abnormal movement in the heart muscles and convert it into an electrical signal for detecting cardiac symptoms; by building a cantilever into the sensor, the team created a mechanism that can sense the specific stress symptoms of a heart attack thereby alerting the patient and a team of doctor’s to the impending health risk. Indeed, this is a very exciting and interesting development for high-risk cardiac patients everywhere. Check out a full article here.
