Wireless Parking in San Francisco

San Franciscans may become the envy of urban drivers around the world with their wireless sensors and mobile payment system. The San Francisco based company, Streetline Parking, is providing the basic backbone for the system, installing sensors in designated parking spaces. From their mobile phones, drivers can then locate vacant spots and pay. Moreover, the technology allows the city to assign dynamic smart-metering, charging slightly more per hour during high-traffic periods; sensors also ensure increased payment-compliance.
